Lower Valley

This caracteristic valley of the area is a true contrast with the patagonian desert.
Formed millions of years ago by erosions and water flows from the Chubut River, is nowadays the only drinkable water source of the region.
During the Welsh colonization, this vital resource was utilized at its maximum, transforming the typical dry landscape of Patagonia into an incredible oasis of shades and fertility. If we were to look at it from the sky, we could see today a green line crossing the deep desert.
Settlements such as Rawson, Trelew and Gaiman are characteristic manifestations of those colonization times, following the riversides upstream all the way to the Andes mountains, many years after, were Trevelin and Esquel would be founded.
This excursión will take us through these Welsh settlements, while interpreting their culture and admiring the amazing contrast of landscape achieved by mankind.
We suggest to finalize the visit with a Welsh tea service in one of the traditional houses specially conditioned for this purpose.
