BOAD RIDE

Departing from the shore in Puerto Piramides, on board of a comfortable vessel, we ride along the coast line towards the fauna reserve of Punta Piramide (Pyramid Point), were we will sight a breeding colony of sea lions. It is one of largest of the area, with a population of above 400 animals per season.
Since we make our approach from the water, they do not interpret our curiosity as an invasion to their privacy, and so we may appreciate their behaviors from a privileged position.
In the absolute freedom of their natural habitat, these animals copulate, give birth, breast feed, educate their youngest, males fight and defend their territories; and we are able to witness the social dynamic of the harems among other curiosities.
This colony is different from those situated on sand beaches, since the animals here are situated over a rock ledge, providing a different and very interesting social dynamic, allowing the visitor to take part on an interaction unlikely to occur in others.
Throughout the excursion we will observe a big diversity of marine birds (both local and migratory), fossils and marine formations from millions of years ago, touring one of the prettiest coast lines of Argentina.
 In this same trip, we make an attempt to find dolphins that inhabit inside the gulfs of Peninsula Valdes, and during the summer time one can see them swimming in groups of up to 300 dolphins, feeding and doing some acrobatics.
 To finish off the ride, we offer our passengers to jump into the water and do a snorkeling activity (optional and included in the price). For this, the crew members will provide, to whoever wants to join the fun, the gear that includes a wetsuit, flippers, mask and a snorkel plus all the safety recommendations and assistance.
All the gear is on board, giving passengers the opportunity to decide there and then if they are game or not.
The vessel is conditioned with the proper access for both going into the water and coming out of it. We also provide a lifeguard and instructor for the activity.
Those who do not wish to participate, can descend and take a walk –if the Docking place allows it- or remain on board, soak up the sun and have a free of charge beverage.
Once everyone is back on board, we begin our journey back to the coast.
