Whale Watching

Puerto Piramides is the only legally authorized port for the Whale Watching activity in Patagonia.
 In our office, passengers will be provided with all the information needed prior to departure and will also be equipped with lifejackets and raincoats (if needed).
 From there, we will walk down to the beach with a crew member to find our vessel waiting for us, on dry land, over a trailer. We will go on board and be towed out to sea.
Our multilingual crew members are all experts in interpreting and observing nature. They will guide and assist us throughout the excursion.
 Once on water, our journey towards the whales begins. The encounter with the Southern Right Whales is absolutely guaranteed, by both nature and us.
 According to the time of the year we may come across courtship and mating groups (conformed by juvenile and adult specimens), or mothers with newborn calves.
 During the entire ride we will experience and share unique moments of the way of life of this sea mammals in complete freedom and in their own natural habitat.
 Nevertheless, it is frequent to be as close as a few centimeters away from them due to their curiosity, sociability and peaceful nature.
 The calm Waters of the Golfo Nuevo provide us with a smooth excursion (we do not go out to open sea). After an hour and a half among these magnificent animals we head back to the beach, with the strong conviction that we have lived a unique and educational experience.
 Our crew members will photograph and videotape all the events, giving you the option of purchasing a DVD filled with your excursion, as well as a fine selection of the best whale watching footage and wild life images from our archive.
